+ Storytelling with Luke
I had the strangest realization this week.
(skip ahead if you don’t care about me, my thoughts, or my weird life cz I will discuss AI and LinkedIn in the following sections)
I realized that I don’t like ‘living’ or ‘being’ anywhere.
But I love feeling like I’m nowhere.
Okay I probably lost at least half of you more then the 10% of the rest of you would like to admit about the eleventy percent of the rest. . . .
Let me explain with some context:
Hi, I’m Luke. This is my newsletter.
I’m a 39-year-old LinkedIn ghostwriter.
I run a marketing agency and live in Paraguay.
Prior to that, I lived in a campervan and drove all over the UK.
Prior to that, I was an Instagram influencer in the sustainable fashion space.
Prior to that, I was a paster/preacher in Christian ministry.
Prior to that, I worked in the construction industry.
I’ve been self-employed my whole life.
I have spent most of my working years (since I was 13, so a long time) working really hard 9-10 months of the year and traveling the rest.
I’ve moved every other year since I was 6 years old. I’m a true nomad.
I like to laugh and blame my ancestors (I have a status card and am Metis First Nations in Canada), but the reality is I just love to wander and dunno if I can blame DNA.
I feel the most at home on the road.
In an airport. In a car, driving from city to city. In a generic Hilton hotel or Days Inn and in shopping malls.
I love feeling like I’m nowhere. The moment I feel like somewhere is home, my nomadic instincts require me to pack up and move on to a new challenge.
It makes for an interesting life with lots of stories, but I also often feel like an outcast.
At my age, all my old friends have long since given up their dreams and are focused on other things.
Anyways I’m rambling with all of you but I just thought I’d share a bit of my strange life.
Oh… The realization, you ask?
Well, I kinda said it.
But basically I realized I make a prison wherever I go and YET, I’m a guy that loves freedom.
I need my routine.
Right now, this is my routine when I’m here in Paraguay.
(I love it)
I wake up and meditate.
I grab a coffee and sit in the sun.
I log in to LinkedIn for my post rounds.
I walk to the mall here (about 10 minutes away)
I walk 7500 steps and then grab a protein bar (no carbs)
I log in and do more work. That lasts for a few more hours.
I walk to the mall again and eat a steak at the same restaurant.
I get the same order basically every day (or I buy burgers and eat those)
I am a carnivore that’s why and its easy. That and I don’t speak Spanish lol.
I then walk another 7500 steps to hit my 15k goal and start heading back home.
I then lift weights until my arms r tired (haven’t been able to this month though)
Then I work till my eyes fall out.
I do it again.
Now, when I step back and analyze this, it’s pretty fucked up.
But the truth is, I really enjoy this routine.
Have I smashed this EVERY day? Naw…
I’ve been on the road much of 2024.
But since back in Paraugay….
I feel the best I’ve felt months.
I am happy right now.
Anyways, life is weird sometimes and no matter what your routine is, I hope you enjoy it and find joy and peace in it.
Let’s enjoy a useless pic from me and then get on to some value.

🤖How Luke Matthews Writes LinkedIn Storytelling Posts With AI
I got featured last week in the “Write with AI” newsletter which is the leading paid newsletter on how to turn ChatGPT and other AI platforms into your own Digital Writing Assistant.
It’s a quick feature but cool nonetheless!
That’s it for this week.
I would say I’m off to sleep but I decided not to sleep tonight so I guess I’m off to go do my next task on my todo list…
Cheers,
Luke
