Back to the Basics - How to Ideate and Write with AI

First comes ChatGPT, Second comes PerplexityAI

First of all, I want to welcome 1000 new subscribers that have joined this month!

It’s been the best month for newsletter growth for ol Luke so you all must LOVE AI so much..

Before we nerd out again, I’d like to start this edition with a lesson.

I’m going to pretend this is LinkedIn. Ready?

(Pretend you are scrolling for a minute, and you stumble upon a middle-aged man with Eminem-like hair and a slightly deranged smile on his face. Curious, you stop and read the hook, and it is….)

ChatGPT isn’t going anywhere.

But some copywriters will get left behind.

Here’s how I write with AI (but don’t lose my soul)

Not too bad, hey?

But let’s be real, I wouldn’t post this hook with a selfie.

It would absolutely be a Twitter screenshot like this:

Anywhoodles, before I lost 420 of you, let’s get into something fun.

I CHALLENGE any of you to complete this post above.

Test out my prompt in the following section and see if you can develop a decent post!

Email me your best one, I’d love to see your results.

(read the next section to find the prompt to use)

How I use ChatGPT to Write Posts

ChatGPT writes my posts. But I make them better.

Here's how I beat writer's block with AI:

Using the right prompt can be a huge time saver.

But expecting AI to do the whole job for you.

It is just too much.

I only use AI to get the first draft of my post.
I edit 4 or 5x after using ChatGPT.

AI is best used to take you from a white page
↳ to words on a screen.

You must edit.
You must re-prompt.
You must test and tweak.

→ or ChatGPT will write you horrible posts!!

The best use case currently is to give you a starting point to write copy from.

Here's a simple prompt strategy I use.:

--

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗽𝘁:

Please analyze the following information and finish writing the post that I give you based on the information provided. Please make sure the ideas are written in the tone of (𝒊𝒏𝒔𝒆𝒓𝒕 𝒄𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒐𝒓) with the thought leadership of (𝒊𝒏𝒔𝒆𝒓𝒕 𝒄𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒐𝒓). But first, here is more context for you: (𝒊𝒏𝒔𝒆𝒓𝒕 𝒊𝒏𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒎𝒚 𝒃𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑰'𝒎 𝒘𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒇𝒐𝒓) Here's the information and the topic to write the LinkedIn post on: (𝑰𝒏𝒔𝒆𝒓𝒕 𝒊𝒏𝒇𝒐 𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆, 𝒊𝒕 𝒄𝒂𝒏 𝒃𝒆 𝒂𝒏 𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒍𝒆, 𝒃𝒍𝒐𝒈 𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒕 𝒐𝒓 𝒐𝒍𝒅 𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒕𝒔 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒐𝒓 𝒂𝒏𝒚 𝒄𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒐𝒓)

Please use all this information and expand on the hook here:

How to Get Clients during a Viral Post.

It's in the connection requests:

This prompt will give you a decent 1st draft of copy.

I take that first draft, and then I format it.

Then, I rewrite everything in my own words.

Using this method, I can write posts with ChatGPT in a matter of minutes.

Here are two examples of me using the prompt:

That’s it for this week’s edition.

Did I mention I’m writing this from my 4th country in the last 4 weeks?

No, of course not, cz I stopped posting selfies of my travels last year.

Tell you what, If 20 people reply to this email and let me know where they are going on holiday this year, I will post a travel story post this week.

If not, I’ll gladly post another AI tutorial.

Cheers,
Luke
