Adapting to Algorithms & Storytelling with AI

+ Bonus How to Grow on LinkedIn Masterclass

Yesterday, I did something crazy.

Now, before you doubt me, rest assured this was an absolutely mind-blowing move on my part.

Did I give away all my secrets for free?
No, I did not.

Did I sell my ghostwriting agency and retire?
No, I like to work too much.

Did I fly across the world to 5 different continents this last 6 weeks?
Well, yes, but that’s not the point.

Okay, before you all close this email, let’s just get into it.

This is what happened:

I swam in my apartment complex’s pool.

Yep, that’s it.

Why was it crazy?

Because I’ve been renting this place for almost 8 months now.

And until yesterday never went in the pool.

I know, right?

The funny thing is, the only reason I went in the pool…

It is because my air conditioning unit broke.

So I was just way too hot sitting here working on thought to myself, I need some sweet relief.

So in the pool, I went.

Is there a lesson to this story?

Nah, but I just thought I’d share, you know….

Here’s a pic of me in the pool

Anywhoodles, let's get on to some value, perhaps, shall we?

🤖 Why I’m not worried about LinkedIn’s Algo

I have been selling marketing services on LinkedIn since early 2020.

In that time, I’ve seen numerous algorithm apocalypses.

I’ve also seen things change really fast. Her'e’s what I mean:

In 2021 → everyone hated polls
In 2022 → everyone hated selfies
In 2023 → everyone hated carousels
In 2024 → everyone hates AI & ChatGPT

LinkedIn content changes a lot monthly.

I'm paid to stay at the front of trends.

I set my ego aside and adapt fast:

Polls led the way in '21
↳ I adapted

Selfies stormed '22
↳ I adapted

Carousels crushed '23
↳ adapted

AI is doing stuff in '24
↳ I'm already adapting

In marketing, everything changes fast.

Climbing to the top 1% is hard.

Staying there is harder.

You MUST:

Set your ego aside.
Embrace change.
Explore trends.

When the algorithm is hard? Don’t be afraid to test some things.

Post at a different time.
Try a new content format.
Engage in a different style.
Switch it up and test, test, test.

See, I’m not worried about the algo because, well, most of all, I’m not afraid to start at zero. I’m not afraid of getting less likes and follows.

I’m used to getting beat up and losing the odd fight.

This Linkedin game is a long one, so be in it for the long haul.

Keep chugging!

𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗽𝘁 𝟭:

You are an expert ghostwriter that specializes in LinkedIn and Twitter marketing and you have years of business experience. Please analyze the following 10 posts from (𝑖𝑛𝑠𝑒𝑟𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑐𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑡𝑜𝑟𝑠 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑎 𝑏𝑟𝑖𝑒𝑓 𝑑𝑒𝑠𝑐𝑟𝑖𝑝𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝑜𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑚 ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒). I want you to give me 2 new posts based on these posts. Please make the posts with the thought leadership of (𝑖𝑛𝑠𝑒𝑟𝑡 𝑐𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑡𝑜𝑟 ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒) and the formatting and copywriting skills of (𝑖𝑛𝑠𝑒𝑟𝑡 𝑐𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑡𝑜𝑟 ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒), with a slight influence from (𝑖𝑛𝑠𝑒𝑟𝑡 𝑐𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑡𝑜𝑟 ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒). I want you to make the sentences short and concise but also switch up the formatting so it's enjoyable to read. Please no hashtags, and please make sure the posts follow this opening format:

A bold statement that is no more than 8 words in sentence one.

A short statement beginning with "How I" and then a number included in this story opening sentence.

Here are the 10 posts to analyze:

(𝐼𝑛𝑠𝑒𝑟𝑡 𝑦𝑜𝑢𝑟 10 𝑝𝑜𝑠𝑡𝑠 ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒)

Our work isn't done.

We need 1 more prompt to get the correct tone of voice.

𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗽𝘁 𝟮:

Can you please add the following story into both posts:

(𝐼𝑛𝑠𝑒𝑟𝑡 𝑎 𝑠ℎ𝑜𝑟𝑡 𝑠𝑡𝑜𝑟𝑦 𝑓𝑟𝑜𝑚 𝑦𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑙𝑖𝑓𝑒 𝑟𝑒𝑙𝑒𝑣𝑎𝑛𝑡 𝑡𝑜 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑝𝑜𝑠𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑚𝑒𝑠)

Keep the integrity of both original posts, but just make them longer and add in elements of this new story and lesson into the posts:

--

There you have it.

An AI-generated storytelling post.

I'd argue it beats most of the stories in the feed.

But to make it truly elite.

I edit with three final 3 steps:

1. Tweak the hook to be more human.
2. Fact-check the post and edit where needed.
3. Simplify the CTA, add a PS, and make it your own.
